The area near Pein's town hall is not only an architectural eye-catcher, the brewery tours in today's BrauManufaktur Härke are also popular.

 BrauManufaktur Härke GmbH - formerly Privatbrauerei Härke GmbH & Co. KG - was founded in 1890 by Ernst Härke in Peine and is as much a part of Peine as its owls.
In 1927, work began on the construction of the now listed brewery building based on a design by architect and city architect Anton van Norden.

In January 2013, Einbecker Brauhaus AG took over the Härke brewery. Beverages had already been bottled in Einbeck since 2011. In February 2013, the traditional Pein-based company was renamed BrauManufaktur Härke. The beer tradition in Peine ended in 2023.
