Reinhold Tiling, his assistant Angela Buddenböhmer and his co-worker Friedrich Kuhr suffered severe burn injuries from which they died the following day. The memorial at the site of the accident on the Arenshorst estate commemorates the place where the pioneer and rocket researcher worked.
