The imposing **cathedral church** is located **in Einbeck's old town**.

The **collegiate church of St. Alexandri**, also known as **the Minster Church**, was built between **1275 and 1508** as a three-aisled hall church on a much smaller, Romanesque predecessor building. **The collegiate monastery** in honor of St. Alexander was **founded in the 11th century by Count Dietrich II von Katlenburg**. The monastery and the associated buildings had their own administration and jurisdiction in an area known as "Stiftsfreiheit".

St. Alexandri Minster is located at 4 minutes on foot (300 metres) from Market Square.

If you are travelling by car, you can park your vehicle free of charge directly in front of the church. 

Travelling by public transport, you will arrive at Einbeck central train station by regional railway. It takes only 10 minutes (800 metres) to walk from the train station to the church.
