St. Andrew's Church was built by Duke Rudolf August of Brunswick and Lüneburg as a court and palace church and consecrated in 1702 to the glory of God.

 The name and the courtly coat of arms above the door of the west entrance point to the builder. The baroque church is unique in the Braunschweig region due to its two-storey gallery and the connection between the altar and pulpit supported by 8 columns.
