From there, you hike to the lake and along the northern shore. West of the lake, you now walk southwards. Here, Werbeliner See lies to your left and Grabschützer See with nature trail to your right. Near Zwochau, the path continues south of Werbeliner See and finally along the shore again to the starting point in the east. The nearby Schladitzer See is a good alternative for those seeking a place for water recreational activities. The area is one of the largest and most important nature reserves in Saxony. Special species such as wolf, white-tailed eagle, otter, beaver, and above all a nationally outstanding bird population have settled here. Over 500 animal and over 270 plant species have been recorded to date.
