Since it is a circular hike, other starting points are also possible.The Meridian column serves as a prominent landmark made from Saxon sandstone. Through the integrated viewing slit, the view opens directly along the 13th eastern longitude. On clear days, the panorama stretches to the mountain ranges of the Ore Mountains, with Keilberg and Fichtelberg on the horizon. Soon after, the rest area „Nimm Platz“ invites you to take a break. From here, Augustusburg, Spitzberg, and the Dittersdorfer Höhe can be calmly observed. In Altenhain, a short stop is possible at the former school building, now the town hall, which was built in 1850 by the Uhlig brothers. Shortly beyond the village lies the "Lower Spinning Mill," another cultural-historical testimony of the region. This water-powered spinning mill was commissioned at the beginning of the 19th century by Altenhain’s manor owner Johann August Hößler and executed by master builder Uhlig. At the rest area „Mepps Ruh“ a shelter and the wide view of the Ore Mountains, including Augustusburg, invite you to linger. Before returning to Kleinolbersdorf, the Apple avenue with its weather mushroom awaits. The covered place not only provides shelter from the rain but also an info point on the mining history of the region and the church of Kleinolbersdorf.
