This hike is recommended for families due to its versatility. If desired, the hike can be shortened by about an hour by taking the S-Bahn back to Stadt Wehlen from Kurort Rathen instead of continuing to walk.

**Current information:** Due to construction work, it is currently not possible to visit the Neurathen rock castle. However, the path over the Bastei Bridge is NOT affected.
