Directions

The cycling route along the Green Ring Leipzig is fully signposted and marked with distance information. It runs partly on independent cycle paths and partly on roads. Since it is a circular route, the route can be started from any point.

Anyone wanting to start cycling in Naunhof can choose the town church, the tower clock museum, or the market square as a starting point, for example. From here, it heads south past the Naunhof outdoor swimming pool towards Lindhardt. Via Belgershain, Oelzschau, Kömmlitz, and Großpötzschau, you finally reach Espenhain. A short stretch of the route follows the federal highway to Rötha and continues through the town center to Böhlen.

To the south, the route passes the Lippendorf power station towards Zwenkau. Via Klein- and Großdalzig, you reach Werben at Lake Werbeliner. From there, the path leads north through Kitzen, Seebenisch, and Kulkwitz to Markranstädt. Outside the town center, you cycle past the Bismarck monument and the Markranstädt public swimming pool to Altranstädt. The route then goes via Priesteblich and Frankenheim through the Luppeaue nature reserve. After crossing the Luppe and the White Elster, you follow the Elster cycle path to Schkeuditz West.

Via Merseburger Straße, you reach Schkeuditz East and the Porsche factory. From there, the route heads north to Lake Schladitzer, following its shore to Schladitzer Bucht. It continues via Haynaer Straße and the roundabout to Podelwitz. Passing Leipzig North/Plaußig industrial park and the BMW factory, you cycle through Seegeritz, Cradefeld, and Taucha. Via Panitzsch and Borsdorf, you finally reach Lake Albrechtshainer and return to Naunhof, where the circular route closes.
