Our first stop is in the Nikolaivorstadt district, at the . Here you will find the Lüders family tomb. It is a memorial to the life of Johann Christoph Lüders, who founded his saddler and painter's workshop in Görlitz in 1827, where he made coaches. Continue walking from Friedhofstraße, through the Ölberggarten, through the Schanze to Heilige-Grab-Straße. Follow the streetcar tracks to the Jägerkaserne barracks. Behind the huge barracks building at the sports hall in Hugo-Keller-Straße you will find a bas-relief of the famous footballers Michael Ballack and Dixie Dörner.Follow Hugo-Keller-Straße to the Nikolaiturm. Here you have two options: either take the steep direct route via Nikolaistraße or take a leisurely stroll through the Nikolaizwingers park. You will come to St. Peter's Church and enjoy the view of the Neisse. Now walk a little way back to the Hotel Tuchmacher. Here you come to Peterstraße 4 and admire the . Cross Untermarkt, past the town hall tower and into Brüderstraße. You are in the heart of the old town, as you can see from the impressive architectural ensemble. At the beginning of Brüderstraße, opposite the town hall tower, is the Schönhof. It is the oldest bourgeois Renaissance house in Germany and has been home to the since 2006. The Schönhof was built by Wendel Roßkopf after the town fire in 1525. Roßkopf is considered a pioneer of the early Renaissance, which is so well represented in Görlitz.

Cross Brüderstraße and walk across Obermarkt towards Kaisertrutz, which belongs to the Museum of Cultural History. To the left of the building you will find a memorial to the city's first mayor, . Now follow the streetcar tracks to Demianiplatz and walk past the department store into Struvestraße. At the end of Struvestraße you will find our next stop, the monument to , a German writer, painter and graphic artist. Follow Joliot-Curie-Straße to Dr.-Kahlbaum-Allee, on your left is the Park of Peace with the . Jakob Böhme is probably the city's best-known son. His theosophical writings spread throughout the world.

Breathe in the fresh air of the park.

Follow the Oder-Neisse cycle path in the direction of Obermühle past the Neisse viaduct. Behind the viaduct, follow a fairly steep path to the , the founder of German pedigree poultry breeding. Here in the park, it is also worth taking a ride on the .

You can also return to the old town via the Oder-Neisse cycle path.
