Along the Schanzenbach, the path passes two of the formerly seven water mills: Schanzenmühle (visit possible by prior arrangement) and Leithenmühle. Two ponds (Maschinenteich and Mühlteich) invite nature observation; the hiker can rest at the rest area. Near the former Zöllnermühle, the main road is crossed. The path continues along the Mulde riverbank to Röda, over the Rosenberg to Gorschmitz, and back to Leisnig.
