**A wonderful half-day route through the heath in the Sorbian settlement area**

The bilingual community of Ralbitz-Rosenthal lies in the core area of the Sorbian-speaking Lusatia. In the villages, many, especially Sorbian, traditions and customs are lovingly maintained.

In Rosenthal there is a Marian pilgrimage site that was cared for by Cistercians until 2007. Several pilgrimages take place annually on the pilgrimage meadow, including that of the Diocese of Dresden-Meissen. The pilgrimage site Rosenthal is one of five pilgrimage sites united since 2000 in the association "Central European Pilgrimage Sites".

Deep pine forests, long shady forest paths, field paths planted with chestnut, oak or lime trees, and lovingly maintained villages offer many opportunities to pause and breathe deeply.

Directions

1. The path leads from Rosenthal eastwards to Naußlitz.
2. After passing through the village, a country road leads southwards.
3. After crossing a street, the path heads towards Doberschütz until it turns right into the forest at the first opportunity.
4. In the forest, the main path then turns west.
5. Shortly after leaving the forest, you pass through the village of Grenze.
6. A few meters behind Grenze, the path turns north over a small bridge onto a well-maintained country road.
7. At the country road junction (there is also a small bench and the KRABAT cycle path is marked there with the black raven), the route turns right.
8. In Zerna, you cross the main road S97 and turn right onto the country road behind the bus shelter (just before leaving the village towards Rosenthal).
9. Arriving in Rosenthal, the path leads past the playground, where a short break is recommended before finally visiting the pilgrimage site with church, chapel on the festival meadow, and the Marian spring.

Due to patchy network coverage, it is recommended to download the route before starting.
