Klostermühle Bursfelde: Hiking and feasting

Gastronomy
In cooperation with the hiking guide Catharina Schütze (www.zeitzuwandern.de) and the Klostermuehle Bursfelde we are offering you a very special hiking tour on 13 October.

Why is the Totenberg actually called "Totenberg"?

Although our hike today requires a certain level of fitness, the name has nothing to do with the actual "death". Let's find out together what exactly the mountain is all about and what distinguishes the forest on the Totenberg from other forests.

From Bursfelde, we first hike 270 metres uphill for around 4.5 kilometres until we have almost reached the highest point of the Totenberg.

After taking a breather, we hike the next 5.5 kilometres constantly downhill and without any major incline through the forest back to Bursfelde.

Depending on how fast we hike, we still have some time to visit the monastery church. It is open to visitors all year round until 6.30 pm.

After our hike, a 3-course meal awaits us in the monastery mill.
