From May 3rd to 25th, the traveling exhibition "Your Anne. A Girl Writes History" will be on display at the Basilica in Prüm. The exhibition at the Anne Frank Center Berlin focuses on the life story of Anne Frank and, in this context, also addresses the topics of anti-Semitism, racism, and discrimination. A particular focus of the exhibition is on educational work with young people. School classes have the opportunity to visit the exhibition as part of daily tours. These tours are led by specially trained young people, so-called "peer guides." The peer guides, who are students from all participating schools, facilitate dialogue on an equal footing and encourage active engagement with the exhibition's themes.
In addition to the tours, there is a diverse accompanying program for school classes. It includes project days, workshops, discussion groups, and mornings at the cinema with evaluation discussions. The accompanying program for the exhibition includes a diverse range of events, including readings, lectures, concerts, and film screenings.
Highlights include: An Experiment: Images of the Future (May 6, 7:00 p.m., former barn at the seminary): An interactive workshop exploring how we want to shape our future. Hope for Tomorrow (May 10, 2025, 7:00 p.m., Prüm Basilica): An evening with Bible stories, music, and prayers for peace.
Voices of the Holocaust (May 9, 2025, 7:00 p.m., Prüm Basilica): Louis Pawellek, together with contemporary witness Thomas Gabellin, will present his book featuring the stories of twelve Holocaust survivors.
"Filler Children" - Reading Hour by Children for Children (May 8 and 15, 2025, 3:00 p.m.): Students will read from Anne Frank's "Filler Children," a collection of stories she wrote during her time in hiding.
Georg Toporowsky - Head of the Vogelsang National Park Chaplaincy (May 13, 2025, 7 p.m., Konvikt Chapel): A lecture on the importance of humanity and empathy in our society.
Concert by the Prüm Music Association (May 18, 2025, 5 p.m., Basilica): The Prüm Music Association will perform a concert with selected texts from the writing workshop "In Which Society Do You Want to Live?"
Feature Film "Führer und Verführer" (May 22, 2025, 7 p.m., Eifel Kino Prüm): The film explores the Nazi era from a new perspective. The exhibition and accompanying program will take place at various locations in Prüm, including the Basilica, the Konvikt, and the Eifel Kino.
