Enjoy a stay in an unmistakable atmosphere with the maxim "culinary art & history"!
The Welfenschloss Gifhorn was built between 1525 and 1581 in the Weser Renaissance style and was considered impregnable with its massive corner bastions, underground ramparts and moats. The castle complex was only the residence of the Duchy of Gifhorn for a short time under Duke Franz von Braunschweig-Lüneburg and was never actually conquered.
The combination of perfect hospitality, a modern restored ambience and passionate cuisine make a visit to the Zentgraf Castle Restaurant unforgettable. A quick business lunch with colleagues at lunchtime, cakes or ice cream creations from our own production in the afternoon, accompanied by aromatic coffee specialties or teas brewed to perfection, and a candlelit dinner with creative menus of three to seven courses in the evening.
The restaurant has a variety of rooms with different ambiences. From the light-flooded bastion or the straightforward orangery with a view of the castle moat to the 400-year-old vault or the princely banquet hall. You will also find two terraces nestled among old trees.
The kitchen is known for its craftsmanship, creativity and flexibility. Under the direction of head chef Jörg H. Zentgraf, the dedicated team creates creative cuisine with selected, regional products in modern, partly Mediterranean-inspired compositions. They offer a wide range of dishes from traditional menus to gourmet class.
The Schlossrestaurant Zentgraf has qualified as a partner of Green Chefs thanks to its special commitment.
