Church
Culture is a top priority at the Alte Kapelle Haßbergen.
The "Old Chapel Haßbergen" is located west of the main road 215 in the historic village center. The Marienkapelle, which probably dates back to the 14th century, was used as a village church until 1962. In the mid-1980s, the building was threatened with demolition. Committed citizens founded the Haßbergen local history association in 1988. With around 2500 hours of work and financial support from several institutions and the municipality, the chapel was successfully converted into a small "cultural center" for the village. The Heimatverein has set itself the task of filling the old chapel with life. A varied cultural program has been established since 1991. The program includes various exhibitions, workshops, e.g. from the Hanover College of Architecture, children's events, cabaret, theater ("Der Kontrabass" by Süßkind), music events (jazz, classical music, folklore) and regular courses (e.g. oriental dance, Low German, etc.). The Irish evening, called "Singing Pub", a highlight in all event calendars to date, takes place once a year in June in and around the Old Chapel. The club's own music group "Die Kapellis",  (www.kapellis.de), organizes this evening with live music (Irish folk, oldies).

It is also possible to have a civil wedding in the Old Chapel. It offers space for approx. 30 people (Heemsen registry office, tel. 05024-494 and 05024-98050).
