A passion for organic farming

Welcome to our farm!
On our organic farm in Riepholm near Visselhövede, we run a diverse organic farm on around seventy hectares. Our farm has been family-owned for over 100 years. We grow blueberries, cereals, buckwheat and flax on sandy heathland, as well as fodder for our 25 Angus-mix cattle. We also own fifteen hectares of woodland.

We are pioneers in Germany in the cultivation of quinoa. The plant also thrives in our climate. This is how we ensure that quinoa does not have to be imported, but is available in the region.

Our 0.6-hectare blueberry plantation is one of the oldest in Germany.
It is located in the middle of the forest and is the heart of the farm. The favorable location on forest soil with an optimal pH value creates a very special aroma. The symbiosis of the blueberry bushes with a forest mushroom creates a taste that attracts customers from far and wide to pick their own berries. Fertilization is not necessary here. For decades, the plants have been characterized by good health and stable yields.
Our blueberries are picked by hand, allowing us to harvest them at optimum ripeness. We grow the American variety of blueberry, which grows over two meters high. This means we don't have to squat to pick them, but can stand comfortably during the harvest. After picking, our blueberries are packed in cardboard trays and sent to our regional direct marketer, Bäckerei Tamke and wholesaler Kornkraft.
We also offer to pick the blueberries ourselves. The blueberry plantation is open from mid-July to the end of August, Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00.
