Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Auw an der Kyll

The parish and pilgrimage church "Maria Himmelfahrt" is located in the center of Auw/Kyll. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the Southern Eifel region. In 1330 the church already appears in a register of church property. A document in the diocese archive of Trier notes the words "on the ancient little church was the French coat of arms, three lilies and a rose", which indicates that it was built in the time of the Frankish kings, i.e. approximately in the 9th century.
