Harzer Baumkuchen

Since 1749 Baumkuchen (tree cake) is baked in Wernigerode. This is considered to be the "king of cakes". But did you know, that the Baumkuchen cake has a very long history, which is closely associated with the emergence of humanity, and the control of fire? And on top of that the Baumkuchen was first mentioned and documented by the Greeks over 2.000 years ago. We will however not only bake this cake according to traditional recipes.
