Jesus Christ Church

In 1174 Meinerzhagen was first mentioned as a parish. This basilica is the only example of this type of building in the whole district and dates from the first half of the 13th century. The choir of this church was redesigned in the 15th century, the late German Gothic style. The west tower was built in the 19th century.

The construction of the Jesus Christ Church is just as remarkable from a cultural and historical point of view as the eight-sided font with medieval pillars in the apse.

The Protestant parish of Meinerzhagen invites you to a service in the Jesus Christ Church every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There is also a morning service on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. in the opposite town hall.
