The Weser church from the Romantic period dates back to the first half of the 12th century, making it the oldest church in Petershagen. An arched field (tympanum) from the time of construction is carved into the main entrance above the portal to the Romanesque hall building. In 1510, the church was given a heavy late Gothic groined vault and had to be supported by external pillars.
The pews date back to 1964. The scarf cover above the pulpit was donated by Anna Dorothea Duderstadt in 1698. The building was last renovated in 1970 - 1973. The church is connected to the Sigwards pilgrimage route and is open all year round in summer.
