I am a trained Dipl. Des. Graphic Design/Wood Sculpture, and have enjoyed carving figuratively since I was a child. In miniature format, I specialized in working with toothpicks, from which surprisingly filigree figures are created with the help of a pocket knife.
In large format, I mainly worked with a chainsaw. I prefer to saw my dynamically whimsical, often voluminous ladies - rarely men - from oak.
Partially applied strong colors and the spicy structure of the oak set accents and emphasize the presence of movement.
The figures stand self-determined in life on mostly red pumps - sometimes in a handstand or standing balance. Despite their curves, they radiate a certain lightness, agility, powerful grace and joie de vivre.
