"Opbout 1848" and "Neetmokt 1973" are the inscriptions in the half-timbering of today's theatre building. Rebuilt in 1848 from the remains of a fire as a sheepfold and engine house at its current location, the building was renovated in 1973 with the support of many volunteers from Sittensen associations and helpers from the surrounding area and the auditorium was also built.
To date, 120 plays have been staged. 73 times in summer, when plays are performed on the picturesque Waldbühne in the Königshof. In winter we have already seen the 47th performance.
