On this approximately 50 km long circular tour, you can get to know many chivalrous castles and feudal palaces, some of which are in modern use today. Some of them are inhabited, have been converted into event locations or follow the path of sustainable cultivation.
The Rhine-Erft adventure region is criss-crossed by a multitude of castles and palaces, and you could probably admire many more magnificent buildings if there hadn't been so many battles in the region between Cologne and Aachen. The opponents were the archbishops of Cologne, who as electors were at the same time secular rulers, and the counts and later dukes of Jülich as well as their allies.

Let yourself be transported back in time to the Middle Ages on this cycle tour, enjoy the exciting view behind thick castle walls and listen to interesting episodes about well-known inhabitants of these stone testimonies to an eventful history.
