The springs of the Ems and the wild and romantic heathland of the Senne - these are just two good reasons to get on the saddle and set off. The route leads mainly along cycle paths and low-traffic side roads, sometimes through woodland. The picturesque Senne streams are crossed several times.

You start at the Ems Adventure World near the Ems springs in the Moosheide nature reserve in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock.
The picturesque valleys of the Senne streams Wapel-, Roden- and Furlbach, meadows, fields and heathland characterize the landscape. Through Hövelriege and Liemke you reach the edge of the Holter Forest, which you leave by bike in the direction of Kaunitz. At St. Mark's Chapel, the route leads through a small wood, briefly through the industrial estate and past the Grasmeerwiesen nature reserve, a retreat for rare bird species.

Through quiet residential areas, you finally reach the old town center of Verl with the historic buildings around St. Anna's Church and the Heimathaus, which is now used by the Verl local history association for exhibitions and cultural events. The route continues through the floodplains of the Ölbach and Landerbach streams towards Holter Forest. At the edge of the forest is a historic watermill, now the Mühlcafé, where cyclists can stop for refreshments. Holter Wald is the largest nature reserve in the town of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. Enjoy the varied, sparse mixed forest. Those who embrace the 1,000-year-old oak tree are said to remain lucid into old age...

You can settle down in the beer garden of the Holter Schlosskrug near the hunting lodge. The route then continues through busier, urban areas, which you quickly leave behind. Cycle through fields and meadows past the Stukenbrock wildlife zoo and leisure park back to the Ems Adventure World.
