This tour is great for taking a break in between and seeing some sights. Approx. 43km, on cycle paths, dirt tracks, small roads with beautiful views, through fields, stream and river valleys. Two castles are on the way. Through the old village center of Wöbbel down to Steinheim (rapid descent). The Emmer-Auen-Park invites you to relax and have a picnic. Via the Emmer cycle path, European long-distance cycle path R1, past two manors, you reach Vinsebeck moated castle. The route continues along the apple avenue to the Norderteich pond and on to Belle. There you will find an alpaca and stork farm.

You can discover these highlights along the route:

Schloss Schieder
Hidden behind tall trees lies a special gem of baroque architecture and landscape design in Lippe. The reconstructed baroque garden in Schieder Castle Park was officially opened in May 2009. Guided tours are possible at any time if booked in advance.

Emmer-Auen-Park with fitness equipment
The Emmerauen Landscape Park in the historic town center of Steinheim is a precious, natural and peaceful area of nature. The park itself has several allées, a natural ice rink or rather a playground, lots of water, ducks, plenty of peace and quiet and, more recently, sports equipment.

Wasserschloss Vinsebeck
The Vinsebeck Castle is a moated castle in the Vinsebeck district of Steinheim. The former summer residence of the Paderborn canons is privately owned and can be visited inside and out.

Norderteich
The Norderteich is an artificial lake created by damming near Billerbeck. The lake is the oldest nature reserve in Lippe and a popular excursion and hiking destination.

Alpaca and stork farm
The Möller family offers various hikes through the nearby forest with their alpacas. There is also an ostrich farm directly on the farm, which has existed since 2020 and practises species-appropriate animal husbandry. They currently have 35 ostriches and sell their own products. Ostrich eggnog, pasta or eggs.

TIP:
A visit to the Lippe alpaca hike and the Möller ostrich farm is highly recommended. Both can be found at Billerbecker Straße 61 in 32805 Horn-Bad Meinberg. The team offer guided tours of the ostrich farm. Further information can be found at www.straussenhof-moeller.de
