There is a lot to discover here!
The circular trail is particularly suitable for a family walk with children.
The bird species found here and their way of life are presented at eleven stations. 15 small information boards at the stations encourage you to observe the environment more closely. Follow Toni, the mascot of the trail, through the charming landscape around Dreislar.
Observation tips, information and questions take you into the world of birds.
Look closely: Can you see a bird of prey hunting? Can you spot the metal bird figures?
Listen: That's the sound of the white wagtail, that's the drumming of the great spotted woodpecker. This is how you get to know the bird calls.
Play together: Do as the jay does. Play the squirrel game.
Nature around Dreislar
From Dreislar, you head into the hiking paradise of Medebach Bay, a European bird sanctuary that is home to a particularly high number of bird species worthy of protection. Red-backed shrikes, great grey shrikes, red kites, partridges and meadow pipits live here.
Take part:
There are 10 activity sheets for the bird trail with craft instructions, games and tips on nature and bird conservation. They are available at the tourist information office in Medebach and in the restaurants in Dreislar or can be downloaded here.

Directions
From the museum, we walk past the cemetery, along the natural 'Sleeping Beauty Trail' to the Schwinkel wellness rest area, where we reach the first adventure station. After leaving the rest area, we follow the green arrow on the D5 hiking trail and shortly afterwards come across further stations. After approx. 1.4 kilometres, the green arrow points us to the right and then right again at the next fork in the path (still D5). We finally reach the Opolt with its marvellous view via a natural path that also leads us through the forest. The ninth bird experience station is located at the summit cross. We now descend along a fairly steep, unspoilt little path to the Schwinkelweg. The green arrow points the way back towards the centre of the village, where the last stop is at the small herb garden on the village square. At the end, the children can let off steam in the playground.
