If you don't have your bike bags full of regional delicacies at the end of this 55 km tour between Bad Driburg and Brakel, you must have taken a wrong turn: ham and honey are just as much a part of the specialties here as trout and orchard fruit. You can enjoy apples, pears, plums and quinces not only on delicious fruit cakes and tarts, but also in exquisite brandies. Those who prefer a beer will also get their money's worth with the regional art of brewing.
The landscape is just as diverse as the produce it produces: around Brakel, you will encounter fields and meadows that will open your eyes and your heart. The closer you get to Bad Driburg, the more wooded and mountainous it becomes. The route leads along the Aa and Brucht rivers through sparse beech forests. The Nethe, which has its source in the Neuenheerse district of Bad Driburg, meanders through its floodplain-lined valley with its many side branches. So don't stress about finding the perfect picnic spot. It only gets more beautiful around the next bend.

Directions & Parking facilities

There are several free parking options in the starting town of Brakel, which are well signposted. The parking lot in the Bruchtauen is recommended.
With the NordWestBahn (RB84) you can reach the Brakel and Bad Driburg stations and start the tour directly.
