- Start: Bicycle parking garage at the train station in Bünde
- Destination: Bicycle parking garage at the train station in Bünde
This very varied nature tour starts at the parking garage for bicycles at the train station in Bünde. It first leads through the town center with the Laurentius Church and the tobacco monument. Passing the Bünde Museum Island, you reach the River Else with its dam and bridges. The grassland of the Else lowlands, the old and new course of the river and the mills along the river are reminders of the history of land and water use. The farmland at Ohrhagen is home to endangered farmland birds. At Gut Böckel, not only the historic ensemble of buildings, but also the Voßholz, Rainer Maria Rilke and Herta Koenig are worth a stop. After a look at the old Ennigloh brickworks pit, which has been transformed from a garbage tip into a nature reserve, the route leads back to the city via an old avenue of pear trees.
Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website:www.fahr-im-kreis.de. An audioguide and a brochure are also available for download there.
