Von dem Behindertenparkplatz in der Nähe des Hotelparkplatzes an der Bastei wandern wir zunächste die Straße, auf der wir gekommen sind zurück. Nach ca. 700m zweigt an einer Bushaltestellte links ein breiter Waldweg zum Steinernen Tisch ab. Diesem Weg folgen wir bis zur Kreuzung am Gasthaus. Nun geht es links einen breiten Wanderweg in Richtung Bastei. An einem Kiosk erreichen wir wieder die Straße. Diese geht nun nach rechts direkt zum Basteihotel. Wir passieren einen ersten Aussichtspunkt in Richtung Wehlengrund (Stufen!) und fahren an einem weiteren Aussichtsbalkon zum Wehlgrund vorbei leicht abwärts zur Aussicht.
Achtung! Die vor uns liegende Steininsel muss auf der linken Seite umfahren werden, rechts befindet sich eine Stufe!
Zurück muss der gleiche Weg genommen werden. Der Zugang zur Basteibrücke ist wegen der vielen Stufen nicht möglich, es sei denn, man hat Freunde dabei, die einem die ca. 30-40 Stufen nach unten und später wieder hoch helfen.

From the disabled parking lot near the hotel parking lot at the Bastei, we first walk back along the road on which we came. After approx. 700m, a wide forest path branches off to the left at a bus stop to the Stone Table. We follow this path to the crossroads at the inn. Now turn left along a wide hiking trail towards the Bastei. We reach the road again at a kiosk. This now turns right directly to the Basteihotel. We pass the first viewing point in the direction of Wehlengrund (steps!) and continue past another viewing balcony to Wehlgrund, slightly downhill to the view.
Watch out: The stone island in front of us must be bypassed on the left, there is a step on the right.
Take the same route back. Access to the Bastei bridge is not possible due to the many steps, unless you have friends with you to help you down the 30-40 steps and then back up again.

Of course, you can also hike the shortest route to the Basteiaussicht, i.e. only the part on the asphalt road. In this case, the distance (there and back) is 1 km.
