The daffodil tours in the Fuhrtsbach Valley near Monschau-Höfen, offered by the North Eifel Nature Park, are officially called “Spring in the Fuhrtsbach Valley.” The Eifel spring is characterized here by the wild daffodil, which occurs in millions. The daffodil blooms throughout April, with the main flowering period strongly dependent on the weather, and can fluctuate by up to two weeks from year to year. In addition to information about the daffodil, visitors receive details about the river pearl mussel, which only occurs here in North Rhine-Westphalia, and the reintroduced beaver. The renaturation measures carried out in the Fuhrtsbach Valley, which give nature a completely different appearance than it had 20 or perhaps 60 years ago, are discussed as well as the local beech hedges.
