As the first Protestant church building since the Reformation, the Luther Church was built in Görlitz from 1898 to 1901.

It is a central building with a cruciform ground plan in red brick and neo-Romanesque forms. After five years of extensive reconstruction, the church was rededicated in 1981.The Luther monument in front of the church was erected in 1904 as the first Luther monument in Silesia. It fell victim to the war in 1942 and was returned to its old place in 1983 as a second cast thanks to the support of the support group.
