Museum Tabakspeicher (tobacco warehouse)

The present-day museum building was built in the 18th century and served as a tobacco warehouse in the 19th and 20th centuries. Together with the adjoining barn that was built in 2000, the storehouse is now used as a museum. Both half-timbered buildings display exhibitions on crafts, trade, industry and archaeology in an area of over 1,000 m2. Every part of the exhibition is also of interest to children and young people, and there are also educational offers. The "Museum bei Nacht" (museum by night) is another attraction.
In special experience areas, visitors are presented with topics like telecommunications technologies from different centuries. Old demonstration devices can be admired in the cinema hall. One example of what children can also experience is a museum rally. Other exhibition areas depict the conditions in a laundry room and a shop.
