The museum shows the history of iron smelting and iron working in Thale using models and products.

A tin hut at the exit of the Bode valley was already in 1686 established, which later became the ironworks Thale. The museum shows the history of iron smelting and iron working in Thale using models and products - from steel to sheet products up to enamel pots, enamel tanks and apparatuses as well as sintered gears for the automotive industry. The visitor learns moreover also about the social historical development of the company and its employees to the recent past. Another part of the exhibition is devoted to a separate environmental history. Each year six to eight exhibitions from the fields of arts, crafts and history are shown in the gallery chapel.
