The informal setting with delicious coffee specialities and homemade patisserie attracts many locals to the café. In summer, you can enjoy a delicious ice cream in the neighbouring "Gelateria dell'Alpi", one of the best ice cream parlours in the city.
Sie beschäftigt sich mit Leben und Wirken des 1645 am Ort geborenen Oberberghauptmanns Hans Carl von Carlowitz und dem durch ihn geprägten Begriff der Nachhaltigkeit. Im zweiten Abschnitt der neuen Präsentation wird die historische Tafelstube als wichtigster Raum der Burg vorgestellt. Anhand zahlreicher historischer Abbildungen, Objekte und medialer Präsentationen erhalten Besucher:innen spannende Einblicke in die Bau- und Kunstgeschichte des Raumes, aber auch zum Jagdwesen und zur Alltagskultur des 17. und frühen 18. Jahrhunderts.
The Ristorante is designed in the style of a cozy Trattoria and conveys a familial hospitality that is uniquely characteristic of bella Italia. The styling is Italian; lots of wood, bright and open, modern yet slightly retro. The music that plays sets a cheerful mood! And the food? It's like a mini-vacation for your taste buds.
Indulge in delicious traditional Roman specialties: antipasti, homemade pasta and oven-fresh Pinsa. Upon request, meals can also be served in the style of a Tavolata Italiana, with large plates and pots placed in the center of the table.
You can tailor your paella to your individual taste by choosing the basis, main ingredients and special extras. And to accompany it, a good Spanish wine from the modern wine lounge. The exhibition honors the life's work of Carl H. Hahn (1926-2023), one of the most influential personalities in the history of German industry and mobility in the 20th century. As a long-time manager of the Volkswagen Group, Hahn provided decisive impetus for the reconstruction and international orientation of the automotive industry. With his special commitment to Chemnitz and Saxony, he made a significant contribution to continuing industrial traditions and accompanying the transformation of the former Auto-Union region into a modern mobility region. Carl H. Hahn was made an honorary citizen of Chemnitz for his services to the city.
The exhibition combines biographical insights with questions about industrial responsibility, regional identity and mobility in transition. Drawings by the Urban Sketchers complement the presentation with a contemporary, artistic perspective on places, people and industrial history.

As part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, the "Cultural Trail Heights" was officially opened in September 2024. The hiking trail stretches over about 18 kilometers and connects the southern Chemnitz districts of Adelsberg, Reichenhain, Erfenschlag, and Harthau. It is not only the largest by area of the total 30 intervention areas in the city, but also a central component of the Capital of Culture program.
Along the Heights trail, 29 stations have been established that form a chain thematically as "pearls." These stations pick up interesting facts from the surroundings and provide comprehensive insights into the region through accompanying information boards.
The Heights trail runs above the valley areas and offers impressive views of the city of Chemnitz as well as the Erzgebirge foreland. At four prominent points – one per district – weather mushrooms have been installed that serve as weather protection and invite to take breaks.
The Cultural Trail Heights 2025 is designed as a publicly accessible hiking trail. As part of the "C the Unseen" initiative of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, it helps to make lesser-known urban areas visible and to focus on their potential.
