The Church of St. Mary was the late Gothic parish church of Einbeck Neustadt and stood on the Neustadt church square until it was demolished in 1963. It is characterized by its construction (cubic form) in exposed concrete and yellow clinker bricks (1968).
After the old Neustadt church was dedicated and demolished in 1962/63, a new community center was built as a replacement on Sülbecksweg according to plans by the architects Schumann and Hartig (Hanover). The church, which was dedicated in 1968, is characterized by the contrast between modern architecture and some of the old furnishings from the demolished predecessor church.
In 2008, it was converted into the Youth and Culture Church "Marie".
