Waldkapelle Erkensruhr

Church

A littel chapel in the woods of Erkensruhr.

Located in the forest above Erkensruhr, the idyllic little chapel stands in the forest. It is a beautiful place that Ottmar Wollgarten and his colleagues chose in the early 1980s for the construction of the little church. Water trickles softly into a wooden fountain. As the numerous votive tablets show, people keep coming here to ask the Mother of God for help and intercession.

The Erkensruhr village tour (No. 65) and the local hiking trail “Püngelbach” (No. 75) lead directly past the chapel. A small rest area as well as a refuge next to the chapel invites you to stay for a rest and offers the opportunity to rest in any weather.
