The second KapellenSchleife leads through remote villages in the Pleiser Hügelland region and shows lonely heights with a variety of views and villages with lively traditions.
After leaving Oberpleis, we climb up to the Hartenberg and pass orchards on our way. The small chapel is enthroned on the plateau and can be seen from afar. Here we meet the main route of the chapel hike, five of whose twelve chapels we will visit on our tour, and have a sweeping view of the countryside as far as Siegburg and the Oelberg. Down into the valley, we are accompanied by tree nurseries and orchards as far as the eye can see. We follow the Pleisbach stream as far as Uthweiler before briefly walking along the main road, where the next chapel awaits us, St. Michael's Chapel. After leaving the buildings of Uthweiler behind us, we turn off onto the field path and reach the hill with Thelenbitze and finally Pleiserhohn and Westerhausen, the highest point of the hike. Pleiserhohn is home to the beautiful St. Anna Chapel. Through the meadows and fields, along the edge of the Eisbach nature reserve, we reach Eisbach with the Marienkapelle chapel. From there, we head downhill past orchards to Pleisbach and back to our starting point in Oberpleis. On the way, we again have a great view back to the Hartenberg and its chapel and tree as a landmark.
