- Start: Hikers' parking lot at the military cemetery in Ittenbach (clockwise hike recommended)
The starting point at the military cemetery already covers the cultural side of the Siebengebirge and we will get to know the different types of forest along the way. We can discover the sparse deciduous forest as well as the high coniferous forest and mixed forest plots and the Siefen structure, which probably gave the Siebengebirge its name. And at the end of the hike, we will also see meadows with stream drainage at the Perlenhardt, which can often be found in the nature park. This diversity is what makes the Siebengebirge so attractive and worthy of protection as a nature reserve with many rare animal and plant species. We experience this on the hike through the Laagsbusch down into the Logebach valley, one of the most worthy of protection landscapes in the Siebengebirge, and back up to Hövel, used for agriculture and just outside the nature reserve, until we return to the forest, which is to serve as a core zone for nature conservation in the future. This also applies to the meadows at Perlenhardt, which we cross on an approved path, but which are a valuable retreat for rare species.
