Experience the fascinating nature and landscape of the Schwalenberg Forest on the "Schwalenberg Forest and Mörth" circular hiking trail.
This picturesque route stretches over 17.1 km and offers you a varied hike through one of the largest contiguous forest areas in the south-east of Lippe.
Start your hike either at the parking lot at Schieder cemetery (Unter den Eichen) or at the parking lot in Schwalenberg Mengersenstraße on the L 827 / L 886. Take the opportunity to explore the charming old town of Schwalenberg, which will delight you with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses.
The Schwalenberg Forest and the Mörth cover around half of the impressive 4,000-hectare forest area.
The elongated mountain ridge between Schieder and Schwalenberg, with its majestic beech, oak and spruce forests, is criss-crossed by idyllic streams and deep ravines and reaches an altitude of up to 446 meters above sea level.
On the broad plateau of the mountain ridge lies the "Mörth", whose name refers to a former raised bog and creates a special atmosphere.
Immerse yourself in this unique forest landscape and enjoy an unforgettable hike through the Schwalenberg Forest and the Mörth!
