The second unsignposted route from the nature cycling guide leads through the Widukind town of Enger and Spenge and is a perfect circular route for all nature lovers with a certain level of fitness. The route starts and finishes at the Jahnplatz parking lot in Enger (Ringstr./Bolldammstr.).

The connecting element is the history of land use, illustrated by the location and nature of grassland and arable land. The focus is on special features such as the Sieken, the typical regional farming settlements, as well as the formative forces and significance of streams and springs. The typical ups and downs are particularly important on this route: the hilly landscape is not only very scenic, but also good for your calves and fitness!

The "ups and downs" of the Ravensberger Hügelland with its very special landscape of stream valleys and Sieke form the common thread of this hiking route. After the Werburg with the Waldbad in Spenge, you reach the "Drubbel" in Baringdorf, a typical small cluster of farms. The route continues to the Rötekuhlen, historical witnesses of flax production, which was an important source of income for many small farming families in their cottages and Heuerlingshäuser. The trail crosses and accompanies streams and brooks, high-lying farmland and narrow hollow paths - essential elements that characterize the landscape and are typical of our region. The almost-airport Nagelsholz, a famous example of a successful, broad-based protest from the early days of the environmental movement, is just as much a point of interest as the centuries-old Sattelmeier farms. Forced from above, these farmers always had to provide a man with a horse (saddled) for military service. Things are much more peaceful in the Enger Bruch, where birdwatchers come from far and wide in winter and spring to marvel at the rare and interesting bird species that stop off in the damp meadows and water areas on their long journeys. The home of a famous citizen of Enger, the university lecturer and author of popular books on nature Rolf Dirksen, is well worth a stop along the way. The particularly idyllic Siele is also on the way - as is the small railway museum in Enger and one of the few windmills far and wide.

Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website: www.fahr-im-kreis.de. A brochure is also available for download there.
