Königshain - Mengelsdorf - Biesig - Dittmannsdorf - Arnsdorf-Holbersdorf - Thiemendorf

This 26 km long tour around Königshain Mountains is perfect for the more demanding cyclist. Start from Königshain in the direction of Mengelsdorf. This section is characterised by a lot of nature and constant ups and downs. After a short refreshment in one of the restaurants or cafés you can visit the granite quarrying museum (Granitabbaumuseum) and the castle complex with its lordly baroque castle from the 18th century, as well as the "Steinstock" from the 13th/14th century. The cycle tour continues to Mengelsdorf, where you can find one of the oldest trees of Upper Lusatia, the "Wotaneiche". In Biesig cycle past an old manor house and a fire brigade museum before the tour continues via Dittmannsdorf to Arnsdorf-Hilbersdorf. To visit the "Landkino" here, is a real experience. Now you come to Thiemendorf, where Emil Barber, the most important botanist of Upper Lusatia, was born in 1857. Passing the Königshain Mountains conservation area, you return to Königshain.

Arrival via motorway A4 (exit Nieder Seifersdorf or Kodersdorf) or via Görlitz and Dorfstraße.
Car parking facilities are available at the end of the "Kreisbahn" cycle path.
You will reach Königshain by RegioBus line 145 (Görlitz - Königshain - Weißenberg).
