Discover the many water mills along the Erft on this cycle tour.
Not far from the Horrem railway station, where there is also a cycle station, you start the tour at the Horrem mill, where you can first fortify yourself in the farm shop or take supplies for a picnic. After a short ride, the Sindorfer Mühle awaits you, where a dog school and boarding facility is operated today. The next stop can be made at the Obermühle, which, by the way, is located exactly opposite the birthplace of the social reformer Adolph Kolping, whose great-great-great-grandfather operated this mill in the 17th century. The path continues along the Erft, from where it is only a short detour to the Gymnicher Mühle. If you have children with you, you can cool off in the water park. Or you can visit the KM51 museum, where the history of the Erft landscape and the interaction of water, landscape and energy are presented. Contemporary witnesses have exciting things to say about the Erft. Next you reach the Ahremer Mühle (mill) on the Rotbach, which can be visited by appointment. The last stop is the Bliesheim Mill. But watch out, here you might meet the mill goblin "Putschipatschi" - a funny fellow invented by the current owner for the fantasy book of the same name.
