Inspired by the motto of this year's Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer, "Forever Young?", the Schönecker Kulturkreis's three-part exhibition series is titled "Artist Generations." Art by and for young and old will be on display from May to October at the familiar four stations of the Schönecker Art Trail. More than twenty international exhibitors, born between 1940 and 2020, represent very different artistic positions: an art pile-up that invites controversial discussions. The artists will personally address these discussions at the respective exhibition openings from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Participating artists: Jacqueline Beauducel, Gerolstein (Rhineland-Palatinate), Liubov Gavrish, Waldems-Bermbach (Hessian Rhine-Westphalia), Sabine Jacobs, Monschau (North Rhine-Westphalia), Mark Ostrovskii, Waldems-Bermbach (Hessian Rhine-Westphalia), Gerda Modebier, Apeldoorn (NL), Janique Qudbier, Apeldoorn (NL), Marie-Pierre Speltz, Bergem (Lorraine), Helena Steffes, Birgel (Rhineland-Palatinate) For the first time, a public award worth €300 will be presented at the end of the exhibition. Exhibition venues: Altes Amt, Alter Markt 1; Blaue Galerie, Berliner Straße 1; Burgkapelle am Burg- und Kapellenstieg; and Thomé Handweberei, Hinter Isabellen 36. Admission free. Open on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. From June 30 until 17.08.2025, Registration/Opening hours: Exhibitions can be viewed daily by appointment (phone 06553-3389).
The Cultural Circle thanks the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer, the Kreissparkasse Bitburg-Prüm, the Raiffeisenbank Westeifel eG, the van Meeteren Foundation, and the municipality of Schönecken for their long-standing support.
