The Roman Eifel aqueduct begins at the picturesque Green Pütz located in the Urftaue near Nettersheim. The drainage pipe, the spring chamber, and the adjacent canal have withstood the flood disaster in July 2021 well. The renovation work on the nearby railway line provided new archaeological insights into this magnificent engineering structure from Roman times.
Program: Roman water extraction at the Green Pütz. Archaeologists present the new archaeological findings. Information stand of the Friends of the Roman Canal Association.
For children: Archaeological hands-on activity with the Eifel Nature Center.
Catering: Sandwiches and cakes as well as beverages will be offered.
Please note the traffic regulations established for the event day: Access to the parking lot is only possible from Urft.
