The Jacob Pins Forum invites you to its monthly "Books in Conversation" on Wednesday, March 19 at 7.30 p.m.
Christiane Mecking has taken a look at the novel "The Storm" by American author George R. Stewart, which was published in 1942. Stewart has a huge storm coming from the Pacific Ocean through the Sierra Nevada and across the USA to do its destructive work. It brings huge amounts of rain and floods large parts of the country. Reading the book evokes associations with today's climate-related disasters and explains why the book was published in a new translation in January of this year.
Bärbel Werzmirzowsky presents "The Story of a Simple Man". The novel by German writer and musician Timon Karl Kaleyta was published in 2021 and focuses on a modern "Hans im Glück" from Bochum: talented, sporty, attractive. Kaleyta tells his story with a lot of humor, which is characterized by the protagonist's successes and failures.
"Books in Conversation" is a series of events in cooperation with the VHS Höxter/Marienmünster and the Jacob Pins Society.
