Book presentation: "Prüm Album" - A collective family album of the city
A richly illustrated new book about the history of the city is being published with the "Prüm Album". Edited by Monika Rolef, this elaborately designed volume brings together contributions from numerous authors from the region, including historians, artists, craftsmen, and contemporary witnesses.
In November 1950, the St. Salvator Church was elevated to a Basilica minor, and Prüm is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a grand festival. On this occasion, from November 22, the exhibition "People Between Ruins and Reconstruction" by Monika Rolef, Klaus Ritter, and Kaspar Thürwächter will be on display in the Basilica for the first time since 1991. On this occasion, we will also present the "Prüm Album" at 2 PM.
The book is dedicated to many "Prüm treasures," special places, people, and stories that shape the cultural memory of the city: from the baroque Basilica of St. Salvator with its relics to the tradition of local craftsmanship, up to artists like Gerdi Haas, Willi Bauroder, and Peter Weiland.
Home lives within us because we are part of a long chain rooted in what was and oriented towards what will come. Home is a space made of time.
