On the 1st Advent weekend, the historic castle gate of the Niederburg Manderscheid opens for the Christmas market.
Enjoy the unique setting and atmosphere of this extraordinary Christmas market. Against the backdrop of the medieval fortifications, delightful little stalls await to be discovered by you. Candles, floral arrangements, jewelry, honey products – everyone can find a lovely gift to delight their loved ones at Christmas. Culinary delights are also well catered for. Various treats such as mulled wine, hot grape juice, waffles, and roasted almonds pamper both body and spirit.
Look forward to a real living nativity scene. Mary and Joseph, together with their animals, enjoy the colorful life of the Christmas market by the warm fire. Achim and his Christmas friends will perform festive tunes on both days to welcome the Advent season. Experience an incomparable moment in the historical setting of the illuminated castle. Directions & Parking facilities
Once again this year, buses will shuttle from Niederburg Castle up to Manderscheid. Visitors are advised to use the parking areas in town, as parking at the castle is very limited.
Bus stop: Kurhaus / memorial Please use the car parks within the town.
Cost of the bus: 1.00 Euro per person/ride.
