Guided tour of the lava cellar and lava dome in Mendig

Immerse yourself in a world of experience in a class of its own! Spraying lava fountains in the volcano cinema, ‘talking stones’ and an interactive world of experimentation in the volcano workshop: An unforgettable journey into the world of volcanoes awaits the whole family at the Lava Dome.

After the museum visit, it's off underground. A guided tour into the 32 metre deep lava cellar takes you into the fascinating past world of basalt mining. A special highlight are the numerous bats that are currently hibernating here.

Tickets for our public tours of the lava cellar are only available on site, as a day guest at the Lava Dome Museum.

We offer private tours for groups.
