Traditional Autumn Market in Speicher
Every year, the people of Speicher and their guests come together on the first Thursday in October in our town for the traditional "Speicherer Autumn Market." This market was first mentioned in a chronicle in 1856.
This means that with its long 160-year tradition, the market is among the oldest markets in the Eifel.
While the actual fair activities took place in the marketplace back then, a large livestock market was simultaneously held on the site of today's sports field. Over time, this livestock market lost importance - due to structural changes in agriculture and rural areas in general - and was eventually abandoned altogether.
Today, the autumn market organized by the town of Speicher is a traditional fair in its appearance.
And yet, the "Speicherer Autumn Market" is an integral part of the town's happenings and still attracts many visitors to Speicher.
This market is logistically supported as always by the Speicher trade association.
Entertainment program for young and old. And of course, there will be plenty of food and drink available!
