To mark the 20th anniversary of the LABOR project gallery, "The Great Summer of Art" invites visitors to experience the diversity of visual art. From July 11 to August 22, 2025, this exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the works of over 100 artists who have exhibited at LABOR. Curators Gerd Mies and Michael Nowottny create a space in which painting, graphic art, sculpture, digital art and photography enter into an inspiring dialog.
Each exhibited work is a testimony to the creative energy that has characterized this place for two decades. It celebrates both the artistic individuality and social diversity that LABOR consistently promotes. The event underlines the lasting influence that this artistic platform exerts not only on Cologne, but on the entire art scene. Beyond the artistic dialog, the event is an opportunity to reflect on the close connection between art, responsibility and social change. The closing finissage on August 22 will be crowned by a surprise act, making the Summer of Art a cultural highlight of the year.
